I was writing a short paragraph and I could still, surprisingly, clearly feel the words are plain, boring and unimaginative. There was a cloud in my mind, I could sense it, so I closed up the text editor, it's not the time to write.
A couple of hours ago, I had taken a pill for cold, it might have contributed to the effect I'm experiencing, but I remember when I was at junior high, some teachers prefer to have math class at first half of day and definitely not the slot right after lunch. I've heard many times that the clearest mind is in the morning or moments after one wakes up.
It makes sense at the time and so now. I used to wake up and have a cup of coffee after a shower, then started writing until the coffee was finished, then I would've a breakfast. It seems that was a better way to have a more productive day with good quality, I wonder why I've stopped.
Cold med, you've got to love it and hate it, mostly hate it for me. I hate it making me drowsy, which is fine if the sleepiness is actionable, that is you could actually lie down and fall asleep in just a moment. But we all know, that's not the case, you'd just lie there for an hour and your mind is still wondering if that's your neighbor's cat left a gift in your garden.
That sleepy side-effect is more like a torture, your body wants to sleep but your mind isn't having any of it. That's why I hate cold medicines, it's a double edged sword, it might help relieve some symptoms, but it also brings drowsiness. In the end, you still wouldn't be able to function at one hundred per cent.
If you write, words become dry and tasteless; if you program, codes could be lengthy and redundant, or, the worse, logically incorrect.
One thing is more important is don't have a cup of coffee after taking the med, it's a waste of a cup, even you do wait for hours as you should. We should all drink water, as by the recommendation, for the med and afterwards.
Allow me to remind myself once more: morning is for works and medicines means no coffee.
