Zona hostil (English title: Rescue Under Fire) is a Spanish film based on a true event happened in Afghanistan, it doesn't seem to get much of attentions in English-speaking parts of word, only 134 votes on IMDb and not even Spanish Wikipedia page, which it deserves on more than other Hollywood films.

And fortunately it's not completely like the typical heroic Hollywood film and I like it generally, but their personal backstory is a bit weak and, frankly, unnecessary in some.  Like Capitán Varela (Ariadna Gil) and Capitán Torres (Roberto Álamo) and her sister, the divorcing and what-the-heck-is-he-trying-moment-with-her?

Also, Teniente Conte (Raúl Mérida), is he shadowed by his father?  And why he is so harsh?  I am not talking about when Sánchez (Ingrid García Jonsson) made a mistake as going out the tent, but just about everything else.  There is no explanations why he is this way, it just shoves into you.  And Sergeant Aguilar (Jacobo Dicenta), almost like a psychopath even he was right about the faked shepherd who turns out to be a Taliban.

It was strange, and there were footages and photos alongside the credit roll, there must be some facts in, so I went on googling, but I don't speak Spanish and that link is only one I could find that gave an actual run-down of the event than just saying "based on true/real event."

After reading the translation of the event according to that page, it seems nothing of those personal elements had actually taken place but the difficult rescues of crashed helicopter and the crew under the insurgents' attacks.  At least, there is no mentions about those.

Last resort, I think that's the part I like the most, she has to make a choice, the man possibly bleeding to death or an RPG hitting the Chinook with 6,000-kilo swinging cargo under.

The scenes of Cabo Sobrino (Berta Hernández) on the hill are quite lighthearted.  There is one thing I noticed quite early, they seemed to have a bit more females than in actual event, but this gunner role seems to be same gender.
